Although most journal DTDs limit the Acknowledgments to inside Back Matter, the Wiley DTD allows <ack> at either the paragraph or the section level; therefore, so the element was added to the Paragraph Class so that it can be used almost anywhere. Usage within the body of an article will probably be rare.
