Article Metadata

Metadata is (loosely) “data about the data”. The metadata for an article is information concerning the article, for example, bibliographic data such as authorship, article title, and copyright year; descriptive material such as keywords and abstracts; or information about related articles. The article metadata is not part of the body text or graphics of the article proper, but serves to identify or describe the article.
