Funding Statement

A displayable prose statement that describes the funding for the research on which a work was based

Remarks

Such a statement is required, for example, for research funded in whole or part by the Wellcome Trust. The statement may mention the funding source, PI, or other funding information; in that case it repeats (and does not replace) such information as it appears in elements like <funding-source>, <contrib>, etc.
